Hereford Radiology Group is a partnership of seven UK Consultant Radiologists.
We see NHS and private patients at Hereford County Hospital and four of the partners also see private patients at the Wye Valley Nuffield private hospital in Hereford.
We welcome referrals from throughout the UK. We are conveniently located for Birmingham and the West Midlands, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Powys and Gwent.
We offer heavily discounted prices for self funding patients who pay just £200 fully inclusive for a single region MRI scan or brain CT scan.
We also see insured patients from all the private medical insurance providers (BUPA, Standard Life, AXA PPP, Norwich Union etc) and welcome requests for 2nd opinions and medicolegal reporting.
We are approved panel radiologists for Australian and New Zealand visa chest x-rays.

Lowest cost high quality private scans
We believe that our all inclusive self pay prices are the lowest in the UK. If you can find the equivalent quality scan in the UK for less we will be happy to match the price. Our scans are reported within 24 hours by GMC registered specialist consultant radiologists working in the UK. Each radiologist undergoes annual appraisal and has individual private practice insurance from a major UK company.
We can offer such low prices because we have low overheads. We pass on these savings to our patients. Private patient income is shared with our NHS hospital and helps improve facilities for our NHS patients. Hereford Radiology receive no funding or sponsorship from industry, advertising or our NHS employers.
Full range of investigation and expert adviceUnlike most scanning companies we can offer a range of investigations. Our consultant radiologists have the training and experience to advise on the best way to investigate a particular problem. We offer CT, MRI, Ultrasound and Isotope scans, barium studies, plain x-ray and interventional procedures such as biopsies and facet joint injections for back pain.
Arranging a scan or x-ray
Ready to book?
You will generally need to be referred by a doctor, either your GP or a hospital specialist. We can also accept chiropractor and osteopath referrals for MRI scanning and ultrasound. Screening scans for aortic aneurysm do not need a referral; just contact us and arrange a convenient appointment. If you are not referred by your GP we recommend that the GP is informed of the outcome of your test and we will gladly forward a copy of the results if you wish.
We operate to high ethical standards and always put patient welfare before profit. For this reason we do not provide whole body screening scans ("body MOTs") on asymptomatic people. Like most experts, we do not think the benefits of these scans outweigh the harm. Ultrasound screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm (for male smokers and ex-smokers aged 65-75) is supported by strong evidence and we are pleased to offer this for only £50.
